HISTORY
A very long time ago, Naga was once submerged underwater as a part of Lagonoy Gulf until the furious eruption of Mount Malinao spewed a cascade of mud and lava. This molten mass covered a large portion of Lagonoy Gulf and formed an area of land in the water. As the years passed, people started settling in the place because of the abundant growth of narra trees on the newly formed landmass, forming a barangay named Naga, a Bikolano term for narra. A number of hot springs also formed in the place which the residents converted into swimming pools filled with sulfuric water notable for its medicinal properties. The people of Naga eventually called this portion of the barangay Baño after its swimming pools. It is one of the geothermal barangays in the municipality.
