HISTORY
The small barangay of Coro-Coro was once an area heavily populated by the coro-coro birds, dove- like birds renowned for their ability to bring delight to anyone who listened to the sounds they made, which sounded much like “coro-coro”. The coro-coro birds frequently migrate to the place because of the presence of heavily forested areas abundant in sturdy trees such as bamboo, anislag and alom that grew little fruits, which the birds enjoy eating. The birds also flocked at the early morning and sunset to feed on the grains that grew from grasses in the open areas of the barangay. The place was eventually called ma coro-coro by the residents because of the large populations of coro-coro birds in it. Over time, the barangay itself was named after the birds that called the place home.It is one of the geothermal barangays in the municipality.
